Analyses of SATS achievement are an important element, as they are one of the key factors in their development, while also providing a critical overview of pupils’ as well as teachers’, test developers’ and all other participants’ performance. For pupils, their parents, teachers and schools, these analyses above all provide additional information on pupils’ knowledge and an insight into the attainment of goals and standards as determined by the syllabi. They also uncover areas of strengths and weaknesses in pupils’ knowledge, thereby reflecting the quality and efficiency of primary education.

Analyses of achievement together with qualitative descriptions of knowledge at national level are carried out by the Centre in cooperation with national testing committees, while analyses of achievement at school level are carried out by the head teacher and teachers using the online Tool for Quality Assessment of Knowledge (OrKa). The application is a tool for teaching staff of schools to assess and ensure quality of performance. It allows for a wide variety of comparison of achievements: pupils of a school with their peers nationally, among classes or smaller learning groups within schools, from year to year, etc.

Analyses of tasks and question papers, analyses of SATs achievement at national level, qualitative descriptions of knowledge at national level and analyses by gender and region are published each year in the report on the administration of SATs.
